The ANC says it regrets that President Jacob Zuma missed the deadline to declare his assets to Parliament. But, the party says but the circumstances need to be understood. It contends that because the president has a large family, it is not easy for him to do an inventory of personal interests within 60 days of taking office, as required by law. But UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says Zuma has no room to plead ignorance of the Executive Members Ethics Act - after all, he was the one who signed it into law: Click here to listen to audioclip. Zuma is being guided by lawyers as his office feels the law on the declaration of assets is ambiguous.
